Let me start today with a phrase from Napoleon Hill,
Truly, “thoughts are things,” and powerful things at that, when they are mixed with definiteness of purpose, persistence, and a burning desire for their translation into riches, or other material objects.
A business trip or any travel can be an experience for personal improvement. And it doesn’t matter what the experience is. It can be an experience in culture, culinary, or personal improvement. The fact is you have to enjoy your travel. There is always a time after your working hours to enjoy your stay at maximum.
First of all you have to choose the right hotel. A good hotel has to have a fitness center, and the most important thing is that you feel in the hotel at home. If your hotel has also a restaurant the better. Especially in winter time when the weather doesn’t invite you to go out of the hotel for a walk or just for knowing the downtown area of the place you stay.
Keep your habit of exercising while you are travel. You are more relaxed for your fitness program as when staying at home. Walk on a treadmill, do some weight lifting or do some stretching exercises. This will help you to relax and forget about your work. A healthy body needs to relax. The best relax is when you forget about your work for the time of one to one and a half hour.
If the hotel you choose has all this and besides friendly personnel you’ll feel like home. If you cannot feel like home you better try a different hotel in you next travel.
The other day I had a culinary experience in the restaurant of the hotel DoubleTree in Jefferson City. After my daily exercises I went to the restaurant on the last floor with a beautiful sight to the Capitol of Jefferson City. In this time of year with the beautiful lightning for the Christmas Season it gives a certain touch of warmness. Because of the late hour and the burned calories during exercising I just wanted something light for dinner.
I wanted to try something different so I ordered a “Chicken Sate”, 5 skewers of tender marinated chicken, grilled in a savory soy ginger honey sauce, served with a sweet and spicy Thai peanut sauce. And with a plate of the classic Sapphire’s House Salad with fresh baby greens, ripe tomato, and cucumber, topped with sunflower seeds and croutons, served with olive oil dressing. I tell you what – this was the best culinary experience. I really have to give to the Chef of that restaurant my compliments for the dinner. It was the most delicious dinner and accompanied with a Cabernet. You forget your hard work during that moment.
That’s why thoughts are powerful things and you can translate these thoughts into riches for yourself. It doesn’t have to be always money. Experience the riches in a different way of your life - for example a better lifestyle or experiencing something new, travel to different places, etc.
Talk to you soon
