On the Route Of the Tequila....
Hey my friends,
This weekend I made an enjoyable excursion through part of the
Tequila Region to the beautiful city of Guadalajara the capital
of the state of Jalisco in Mexico.
To do a trip like this by car you have to take your time and not
as myself just drive through. I have to tell you that my main
purpose was to get to Guadalajara.
As I don't like to drive that much on Autobahn(Expressway)
because of the monotony I really hate. I tell you it is much
more interesting to drive through the old colorful small
colonial towns.
It's quite a while since I have chosen this route and I can
tell you that this route is a very nice and unforgettable
journey.
In this trip I drove through small cities like 'La Piedad',
'Degollado', 'Ayotlan' and 'Atotonilco'.
The latter town has famous tequila branches like 'Don Julio',
'Siete Leguas', 'El Viejito' and so on. Only in this town
there are a lots of branches with famous Tequila names.
Before passing through Atotonilco you drive through a beautiful
picturesque town called 'Degollado'. This town is famous for the
sculpted statues of animals, palm trees and fountains made of
'Cantera' (Quarry) a red colored stone. There you can look for a
statue for your house or garden. Since I haven't seen this
little town for a long time I was pleasantly surprised about the
change this town has seen. The buildings look colorful with the
recent painted exteriors. The restored colonial buildings near
the center of the town gives you a feeling of going back to the
colonial time.
I assure you that it was worth going of the expressway and drive
through this region.
After a few hours drive I arrived finally at my destination.
When staying a few days in Guadalajara you can enjoy with some
tours the City and the surroundings of this beautiful city and
its friendly habitants.
There is a 'Tequila Tour which brings you to tequila
distilleries, tequila tasting(with lunch and drinks included.
This visit will bring you to the beautiful hacienda where you
can see the typical 'blue agaves' which is used for producing the
famous tequila.
There are other tours where you step into the 17th century at
the magnificent 'Hacienda El Carmen’ which shows you in a private
tour this huge estate.
The City by night and the tours in and nearby the city will give
you a lot of nice impressions of the people and their way of
life.
Talk to you soon
Anton
P.S. When planning a journey to Mexico, inform you as much as
possible of all the amazing things you can see and do.

Impressions Of A Traveler
Hey my friends,
Today is the moment I have looked forward to, because I'm going back to the south.
Honestly I'm really happy to be at the airport in Wausau within a few hours
and boarding the plane because the cold air and weather makes me sick.
The skin of my hands are rough of the cold and it's hurting, actually I feel my whole body skin like that; even with body lotion I can't avoid it. Have you ever felt like
that? I don't know the people living in the northern hemisphere how they protect their skin.
Maybe they don't have that problem I would like to hear something how they protect their
skin from that dry cold.
The other day I went out of my hotel just for a few minutes, the cold wind I felt in my face
was like someone put a hot chilly souce on my face and I felt like my skin was burning.I really have nothing to compare with because even when living in Europe as a younger boy I
never had lived in such a low temperature as we have here in this area. When we had cold I can't say that I was enjoying the temperature in that time but I never
had felt like that.
I'm also aware of that the body is changing with the age and you feel always better or let's
say your body is faster accustomed to warmer temperatures that he is to cold temperatures at
least that is my feeling. Some people out there might say that this is not true maybe
becasue they always have lived in the northern part of the globe and when they come to the
south they face problems with adapting themselves to the warm temperatures maybe the same
way I feel in the north but in the opposite way.
It is kind of difficult to say because every body depending where you live the most time
will react in a different way, so I only can talk to you about my feelings and how I feel.
Some people might say that I'm over reacting about that matter, but every one has the right
to express himself about his feelings and how he is thinking.
Within an hour I have to leave my hotel and I have to head to the airport. At least in every
room there is a heating system, but I don't know if this kind of heat is good all that good
because it is artificial heat and not the heat I'm used to, like to sun which is the natural
heat, I know someone will say but the sun rays are not good for your skin too. I know but
with the proper care and as long as you do not lay direct in the sun rays it is not that
bad. As you know in that time of year the sun is in the northern hemispere burning and not
that good at all.
There are so many opinions about the pros and cons of the sun-rays, but there are a lot of
scientific discoveries that absorbing the sun certain time a day and every day is healthy
for your body and skin, as long as you do not exaggerate the time being in the sun. With the
sun-rays your body will have the important vitamin D we all need. The natural way is getting it from the sun-light instead of taking pills.
So my friends this is all for the moment, and I talk to you soon.
